【Story】
In the Taisho era, in Asakusa's Rokku district, there was an anarchist group called the "Dam Dam Dan," led by the benshi (narrator) of a motion picture theater, Daijiro Kuroki (Yoshiro Aoki). Genji Hirata (Isao Natsuyagi), an apprentice benshi, was the vice-leader, and there were over ten members including Inoue. Kunihiko Tanikawa (Kenji Takaoka), the son of the nouveau riche Diet member Takehiko Tanikawa (Noboru Nakatani) and a university student, also became one of their comrades. Kunihiko had a strange habit: he would suffer a terrible headache whenever he tried to sleep with a woman. One day, on a shared horse-drawn carriage to a hot spring resort, Kunihiko met a young lady named Shino (Yoko Takahashi). At a billiards hall, he met a nihilistic man named Tensai Kita (Shinichi Ogishima). After heavy drinking, the next morning, Kita was found hanging from a large tree. That night, at Kita's wake, Kunihiko met Shino again. The next day, Kunihiko returned to Tokyo, following Shino, and visited Genji. He was introduced to a female pickpocket named Oshin (Aka Serina). That night, the three of them drank heavily until late. After failing to raid a police box, the Dam Dam Dan kidnapped the granddaughter of the political kingpin, Hojo-ji. Kunihiko was shocked when he saw the girl; it was Shino. She was unaware of the kidnapping and thought Kunihiko had used his friends to woo her. That night, the two finally affirmed their love...
