Up for sale is a lovely vintage Art Nouveau style pin by Viking Craft.
It is a very realistic rendition of the beloved Hawaiian hibiscus flower. Like all of the pieces from this maker, this brooch is made of heavy cast sterling.
It has been in a drawer for over 20 years so it was heavily patinaed before I polished it several times over with silver cream and a soft sponge. There is still some patina around the base of the flower; I have polished it multiple times and it looks like the only way to get that black at the bottom of the base off is to use some sort of a silver dip. I will leave that up to the buyer but I cannot guarantee that that super dense patina there will come off…?
Pin is straight and clasp is functioning.
Measures approximately 2 1/2” in length. Back is marked:
