Vintage 40s Ship in Bottle Owens-Illinois Glass Co RARE Find! Ship's name is "Rose." Little tug boat pulling ship into harbor. Amazing details; hand painted, hand made lighthouse, church, trees (or mountains,) plants, homes in little harbor village.
Excellent Condition for age with minor "scratches" to the sky in the interior of bottle.
An avid collector of ships in bottle will know just what a find this is! It will be appreciated by anyone who loves history, nautical decor or just an amazing conversation piece.
Maker's mark on the bottom is a diamond & oval entwined with an "I" in the center which dates Harbor Folk Art from 1929 to late 1950's. Typically, number on LEFT of diamond logo is factory location code - in this case "7" which is Alton, Illinois. The number on RIGHT is year date code - generally "4" for this age bottbottle is for 1940's, and the number below the logo indicates the mold cavity number.
