Vintage MCM Original Unsigned Impressionist Oil Painting 2 Boats Harbor Framed

There are many common themes among MCM wall art: landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, schooners, boats, owls, travel, and so on. One of the biggest themes by far is boats. Here we have an impressive Vintage MCM Oil Painting of 2 boats in a harbor. This artist clearly was a master of color and unafraid to use them, layer by layer to build up colors into a complex blending. Note how many colors just in the reflection of the boats in the water. Wow.

What’s even more impressive is that this painting appears to have been done primarily with a painters knife. The quick movement of the knife along with the bigger amount of paint on the knife contribute to the layering and “bulk” of paint on this canvas. And though he uses a number of colors: greens, reds, blues, oranges, pinks, whites, browns, and black, the paintings colors do not appear to start and stop abruptly. Instead they flow into each other. This is simply great technique…and experience. This painting measures 13 x 15 inches framed.
