(Red mark after acid on scratch swipe means solid silver , if just yellow acid liquid shows on the tissue then it was plated or non solid silver metal)
Fun fact / educational fact :
This solid silver test can also be done with 18K gold acid test drops. In that case no 30 sec wait after acid on scratch mark, and then tissue swipe - would needed. Just simply , the liquid acid would turn the solid silver piece scratch a milky bluish streak in solid silver. Or dissappear the scratch mark if not solid silver
