For sale is a genuine vintage Hamilton Franklin, a classic Art Deco rectangular dress watch produced by Hamilton Watch Co. in the late 1930s to early 1940s.
This watch features the highly regarded Hamilton Caliber 980, a 17-jewel, USA-made manual wind movement, known for its reliability and fine finishing. The movement is correct for this model and marked Hamilton U.S.A.
The rectangular case is 10K gold filled, made by L&K for Hamilton, with strong gold color and minimal wear for its age. The inner caseback is correctly stamped “FRANKLIN – Hamilton Watch Co – Lancaster PA – 10K Gold Filled.”
The dial appears original with attractive natural patina, applied Arabic numerals, square markers, and a sub-seconds dial at 6 o’clock. Hands and layout are correct to the period. No refinishing or aftermarket dial.
Currently fitted with a newer leather strap (not original).
