Vintage Cassius Marcellus Coolidge "Dogs Playing Pool" On Ceramic Tile With Textured Acrylic Paint. This is a very unique way that this iconic image was portrayed on a large 12” by 12” ceramic tile. Not just is it on ceramic tile but this is textured you can feel the hundreds of lines giving this a super cool finish. This is painted over with acrylic giving it its shine. Excellent condition! You can hang this on the wall. It has a hook on the back or you can display this with a stand to put on a shelf. The image is a reproduction of a painting in the "Dogs Playing Pool" series by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge. Coolidge created a series of 16 paintings for an advertising firm in 1903, with nine of the paintings featuring dogs playing poker. The paintings depict anthropomorphized dogs engaged in human activities like smoking cigars, drinking, and playing poker or pool. The series is widely recognized and has become a classic element of popular culture.
