USMC Duck Hunter Camo Reversible Poncho, 1940s-50s, Post WWII, Seabees
This is a reversible poncho in a duck hunter pattern camouflage of green and sand colors.
Adopted since World War II, it is said to have been used by the Navy Beach Battalion (Seabees) on Omaha and Utah beaches during D-Day.
No stamp is found, so details are unknown.
It has a simple structure with a hole for the head in the center of a large piece of fabric.
Along the sides, there's a row of overlapping snap buttons, and the neck strap is also adjustable with snap buttons.
It can be used on either side.
The fabric measures approximately 196cm (vertical) x 157cm (horizontal), with a head hole in the center. It folds in half to approximately 98cm (vertical) x 157cm (horizontal). The distance from the base of the hood to the side edge is approximately 73cm.
Being over 70 years old, it shows signs of wear including scratches, small tears, stains, rust on the hardware, wrinkles, a distinctive odor, and repair marks. There is a patched repair on the sand-colored side.
Please refrain from purchasing if you are seeking perfection or are overly meticulous.
Please read the description carefully before asking any questions.
