Rare handmade signed R. Angea, from Angea family of potters, from Southwest America, mostly Arizona area.  Out of the nine children in the Angea family, only two sons and only one son, Rupert, made pottery, his pieces are hard to find signed.  This piece is from the eighties, when the tribe started going by their original name, Tohono O'odham, from the name given to them from the settlers of Papago.

This friendship bowl is set in the background of the southwest dessert, larger bowl with three men and three women arm in arm, dancing in a circle.  Each person has a unique tribal outfit, attention to detail is prevalent in this piece.  It is one of the larger friendship bowls, measuring approximately 7.5" length, 6" depth and 6" width.  2.25" in between the heads.

Very good vintage condition, no cracks, chips, breaks or color loss, please review the pics carefully as they are a major part of the description
