Black and white illustrated frontispiece and illustrated title page, with about eight other illustrations throughout.
A tale of life in northern Canada in its original Victorian publisher's binding. The binding consists of bright blue cloth-covered boards with black, white, orange, green, and gold gilt stamped pictorial decorations and title/author information along the front cover and spine. The publisher's name is also noted in gilt along the base of the spine.
