First American edition, 22nd printing hardcover copy of The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis (Macmillan Publishing Company, 1950). This copy printed later, likely in the 1970s based on price on front liner flap. With illustrations throughout by Pauline Baynes. Book one in the beloved young adult / children’s fantasy adventure series, The Chronicles of Narnia.
Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with mild rubbing to faces and shelf wear around the edges. Boards straight and clean but with corners slightly bumped. Binding is firm and spine is straight. Previous owner’s inscription on front endpaper, and some sparse discoloration to outer edges of a few pages, otherwise pages are unmarked.
