He is a representative Japanese artist and the most well-known Japanese person in the world. He depicted all things in nature and released over 30,000 works during his lifetime.

Gahon Musashiabumi is a picture book of warriors that begins with Yamato Takeru no Mikoto and depicts famous Japanese warriors such as Kenshin Uesugi, Shingen Takeda, Miyamoto Musashi, and Kojiro Sasaki.
This picture depicts a famous scene from the Battle of Kawanakajima (1553-1564), a one-on-one fight between Kenshin Uesugi and Shingen Takeda.
The military science book "Koyo Gunkan" describes the scene of the one-on-one fight as "During the fourth battle of the Battle of Kawanakajima (1561), in the midst of the chaos, a warrior with a white Hand towel wrapped around his head rode a horse, drew his sword, and charged at Shingen, who was sitting on a shogi (folding chair), and slashed at him. Shingen stood up and received the blow with a military fan." Hokusai depicted this scene in great detail, using the vertical spread of the screen to create a sense of power.
