Royal Horse Guards (Blues) Household Cavalry Memorabilia

Various military memorabilia from my father’s Regiment the Royal Horse Guards (Blues). The Royal Horse Guards (Blues) RHG amalgamated in 1969 which formed the Blues & Royals. The cloth rank insignia is for a Staff Corporal in the RHG, Household Cavalry. Most Regiment in the British Cavalry Regiments have Staff Sergeant’s not Staff Corporal’s. It’s because the term Sergeant comes from servant and the Household Cavalry units protect the monarch not as servants therefore they use Corporal instead of Sergeant. The four stripes are also unusual in the British Army as most Regiments have 3 stripes with the points facing the opposite direction. The Royal Coat of Arms was worn on the white waste belt of the Regiment and has the moto Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense which means Evil to him who evil thinks. The cap badges are for the Royal Horse Guards (Blues). The insignia badge with the Queen’s crown is again for the Royal Horse Guards (Blues) RHG. The flag brass badge I think is a marksman badge.
