In 2001, Blockbuster Inc and RadioShack Corp endeavored to partner up on the rollout of a program called "RadioShack Cool Things," in which they would experiment in creating "a store within a store" at 120 of their locations with plans for a nationwide rollout in 2002. The Cool Things concept exclusively appeared at 34 stores in Las Vegas, 33 stores in Austin TX, 23 stores in Tulsa OK, and 30 stores in Norfolk VA.
Due to the short-lived nature of the program, and the limited number of 120 locations nationwide, not many "Cool Things Cards" are out there. This particular Cool Things Card is an empty Gift Card to the Cool Things mini-stores. This limited release item can't be passed up by collectors of vintage, retro, and Y2K pop culture memorabilia. Would also make a fantastic prop.
