COLD HARDY
Santa Rita prickly pears have round, reddish-purple pads that grow to eight inches.
The color of the pads intensifies when the plant is stressed by cold weather or drought conditions.
During the summer months, the pads are a softer bluish-gray color.
The flowers are orange-red in color and appear in late spring. After flowering, the plant develops an oblong, purple, plump fruit.
Some varieties have spines that are very long, like you see in this listing!!!
The cactus pictured is the one you will receive. It is a rooted cutting.
This variety likes sparse watering, with supplemental during the hot summer months.
These cuttings come from my property here in Southern New Mexico. We are 100% pesticide free.
