Mens SEIKO Sportsmatic 17 jewel Diashock vintage 1962 Mechanical set & Autowind

This is a very early, in fact one of the very first Seiko 5 models with the 2451 movement (a variant of the 66xx movements) in a 15035 case. The chrome over brass case, in very nice condition, features a snap-on case back a drop in movement with a friction fit over crystal bezel. The case is 37mm in diameter, a very large size for an early 60's, and also features a dial that is almost the entire width of the case. The radiant silver dial does have imperfections and blemishes with raised steel makers and long stick hands. The movement the 2451 is an all alloy, no plastic parts, with 17 jewels and auto wind as well as the hacking feature. It has a recent full service and keeps decent time for a watch of the period. The straps are soft calves' leather in dark brown and will fit up to an 8" wrist.
