The author, Friedrich Schiller 1759-1805, lived and wrote in German. This is a true 2nd Edition of the original 1790 work in its original German language. The Thirty Year's War covered all of Europe, not just Germany from 1618-1648. This history gives an account of the conflict between Protestants and Catholics, the cause of the war. This war was so devastating to Germany... they lost 25% to 40% of their population. If you are interested in German history or are of German descent, this is a MUST read.
