Leica Elmarit 135mm f/2.8 Second Generation Vintage Lens.

Leica M-mount.

Released in 1964. This Elmarit is the longest and brightest lens in Leica's rangefinder history. The 135mm f/2.8 offers a powerful large aperture. This lens is designed to enlarge the frame, making the 135mm frame, which would otherwise appear tiny, more practical. Recommended for those who want to shoot with a rangefinder but find focusing a bit difficult.

For those seeking even greater focusing accuracy, Visoflex conversion is also possible! Using the separately sold OUEPO 16462 helicoid, it can be utilized with the Visoflex system.
Mirrorless camera grips are getting deeper and larger year by year. Please consult with us about using it with a rangefinder-style camera with a small grip, Visoflex conversion, or mount conversion.

We have prepared sample photos taken with this lens.

The last time I tested this lens was exactly four years ago, so I've completely forgotten... In the test shots, I combined the OUEPO 16462 Visoflex helicoid and converted it to an α7. The focus is very shallow and delicate, but the resolution is excellent once achieved.

It produces rich and vibrant images when underexposed, and tends to overexpose in high-key situations. On the other hand, it has high resistance to backlight, thanks to its impressive built-in retractable hood, with only small red ghosting when a light source is included. However, this doesn't mean the backlit expressions are not emotive; rather, they offer a tasteful depiction like a cover photo. The bokeh is also large and beautiful.

Condition: Disassembled and cleaned, but some dirt remains on the edge of the front element. There are some bubbles or what are known as spot damages on the rear element group, but I believe the depiction is clear. The viewfinder, especially the framing side window, has some clouding. Composition is still possible, but this is a point deduction. The exterior has no noticeable scratches, only slight wear on the focusing ring from use, which is good. Operation has been confirmed. Genuine front and rear caps are included.

Stored in a dehumidified cabinet.
