This is a flow blue John Maddock and Sons covered casserole dish in Virginnia from 1880. The set includes the base dish or bowl and matching lid. The set is white with a blue leaf design (no gold trim and some remnants of gold trim on the rims and handles. Only the lid handle has an real gold trim left.
The casserole dish measures 9.25 by 6 5/8 across the rim. It is 11.00 inches from handle to handle. It is about 4.75 inches tall to the top of the handle on the lid.
The dish has no chips, cracks, crazing, or other damage. There are a couple spots of clear glaze inside and a small blue mark on one wall-which is insignificant and not shown. The Maddox mark is shown on the base.
