The box has hinged lid with the hinge equipped with a flattened center to serve as a stopper for the box's lid when opened. The box is in the shape of an egg with a lovely pink ribbon bow painted right on the top. The box is made of porcelain. The metal surrounds both top and bottom edges and has the most charming little seahorse as a clasp.
