This is a vintage, domestically-made ski sweater. Export specification. In the past, it was worn as an underlayer for ski wear, so it's designed to be warm with a snug neck. It's not a loose fit, but rather tightly knit like a Nordic sweater. It's a tightly-knit item. It's not overwhelmingly heavy.
It doesn't have the smoothness of merino wool, but it's not as rough as Shetland wool. It has a soft feel.
I (182cm, 68kg, chest 98cm) wore it, and it fits like a slim-fit men's S.
For women, it would be around an L. My neck isn't particularly thick, so it fits, but it's a bit snug, though not uncomfortable. Therefore, it would fit a slender man. For women, it would suit someone who isn't very large.
