Adorable "KNIP" winking owl (Uggla) by Edward Lindahl with a charming shape and beautiful hand-painted details. The figurine from the Minerva Series is decorated in earthy brown and beige tones, giving it a unique touch with matte glaze. One yellow eye is open, the other eye is winking at you. Marked on the bottom with the Gustavsberg studio hand and EL.
Item is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks.

Edward Lindahl (1907-1986) was mostly known as a distinguished illustrator and graphic designer. But he also was a sculptor who designed animal figurines for Sweden’s leading ceramic factories. Edward designed the Minerva series in 1962 for Gustavsberg. It consists of three stoneware owls with swelling forms, earthy-colored mottled glaze, and slightly humorous expression. On the lower side, the figurine is signed.
