Rare Antique French Pilliyut Porcelain Pheasant Tureen. Likely from the early 1900s. Trompe l’oeil design created to look like a game pie- a pheasant inside of a pastry crust. Made by Pilliyut, a high quality french manufacturer of porcelain.
Slight wear on the edge of the bottom and rim. No chips or cracks. Textured brown outside and smooth white inside. Bold colors on the head of the pheasant. Around 9 inches long.
Beautiful, rare piece. Would make a lovely addition to a vintage stoneware pottery or bakeware collection.
