Antique American Wringer Co. Mantle Clock

Beautiful antique clock by American Wringer Company. Manufacturered approximately in the 1890's. Internal mechanics have been completely restored and springs replaced by professional Clocksmith. Clock runs true and accurate to time. Partial original sale tag still present on back. Chimes with a "Cathedral Gong" on the hour and swings on its original internal pendulum. Includes original clock key and a spare.

The American Wringer Company was a 19th/early 20th century company that made hand cranked wringers for laundry. They went out of business when washing machines became popular. But clocks with an "American Wringer Co." label on them were manufactured by the New Haven Clock Co. for American Wringer, which then gave them away or sold them cheaply (with a purchase of a wringer) as a part of a promotion. This clock represents a lot of history during the industrial revolution in America and looks great for its age, and runs even better.
