#754 Vtg Margot de Taxco Signed blue and white enamel flower

This is a vintage Margot de Taxco (Margot Van Hoorhies Carr 1896-1985) sterling silver and blue enamel flowers and white enamel leaf necklace. The Eagle 16 assay mark dating it between 1945 and 1955. This is Margot's #5871 design, and it is believed that one of her famous silversmiths handmade this design for her. It has been alluded that either Miquel Melendez or Melicio Rodriquez made this piece from her design. She was a well-known designer and had a long list of celebrity clients. All her pieces were made in Mexico, where she moved to when she met her husband and started her jewelry business.

This necklace is 16.5" long, .5" wide, has a slide lock closure, and weights 58 grams. There is minor patina on the back of necklace, I don't clean. I do not see any wear on it. When you first look at the white enamel, it looks as though it is worn, but when you research this necklace, those leaves are made to look like that. It's as if it was purchased and packed away and not worn.
