The red PEX-A Expansion Pipe is designed for easy identification of hot water distribution lines within a piping system. It is compatible with both expansion and traditional joining methods, including Tectite by Apollo push-to-connect fittings. One of its notable features is its shape memory, which allows it to shrink back to its original size resulting in strong, durable, and reliable ASTM F1960 fitting connections. Additionally, the pipe's maximum cross-linking increases flexibility and resistance to cracking, making it ideal for use in Uponor and Wirsbo PEX piping systems. With less coil memory than traditional PEX pipes, Apollo expansion PEX (PEX-A) can resist the urge to remain coiled and can handle maximum pressures and temperatures of 160 psi @ 73.4° F, 100 psi @ 180° F, and 80 psi @ 200° F.
