This is a 1.18mm diameter lead. The material is high polymer (highly refined particles). I believe it's the same material as Mitsubishi Pencil's Hi-Uni. It's very smooth.
Many antique Montblanc and Pelikan pencils use 1.18mm leads, and I think many people are having trouble finding compatible leads.
